Safety First: The Essential Role of Youth Motocross Helmets

At Motorcycle Closeouts, our youth MX helmets bring young riders head protection for the track and trail at amazing prices. These off-road helmets fit the shape of a child's head, with a full-face design and fixed chin bar that guards the jaw. Every motocross helmet meets the manufacturer's safety standards and ships at 30%, 50%, or more off the original price.

Safety Features at Great Prices

A good MX helmet pairs safety features with low weight and high airflow. Many youth dirt bike helmets use a lightweight polycarbonate or composite shell. Several also add a rotational impact protection system, a low-friction layer that lets the shell shift to handle the twisting forces of an angled crash. Fly Racing, 6D Helmets, and Troy Lee Designs round out their helmets with cheek pads and an antimicrobial liner. Add a set of youth goggles to finish the kit.

Find the Right Fit

Choosing a youth MX helmet starts with the right size for your young rider. Wrap a tape measure around the widest part of the head, then match it to the size chart, since brands size their helmets a little differently. Look for a snug, proper fit, DOT or ECE certification, and a secure chin strap. A full-face helmet with a fixed chin bar gives off-road riders the most coverage on track and trail.

Clean It, Check It, Ride It

A few minutes of care keep a youth helmet ready for the next moto. Pull out the cheek pads and liner, wash them by hand, and let them air dry. Wipe the shell with a soft cloth and mild soap, then store it out of direct sunlight. Check the shell and chin strap for cracks before each ride, and replace any helmet after a hard hit.
